For Every Minute @ Coco Wellington

It was rather fortuitous I was able make this event – I’d flown down to Wellington for my admission ceremony (+1 legit lawyer) earlier that day, so I dropped by For Every Minute‘s in-store evening at Coco Wellington, hosted by the Sophea Son the owner of the store and Kenzy Cheesman, one half of the label For Every Minute.

For Every Minute is a Wellington-based label which started when Kenzy and her long-time friend Faye Lowe decided to work together to create the perfect robe. The end result has been an ever-expanding range of elegant and beautifully luxurious silk sleepwear and loungewear.

The event was an opportunity to showcase For Every Minute’s expanded range of robes, chemises, shirts, and pajamas which perhaps would be best described through photos. Thanks to Izzie for modelling these on me – I don’t think I quite possess the necessary curves to pull off a chemise.

What initially struck me about For Every Minute is its elegant simplicity, and how cohesive the range is. Despite the seemingly simple silhouettes, upon closer inspection you begin to notice the quality of the satin silk and the finer details. From the French seams used to ensure durability as well as smooth finish against the skin, to the silk-covered dome buttons, it is apparent that each piece has been thoroughly considered and thought through by the designers.

We were offered sparkling wine from Oyster Bay and Antipodes water to quench our thirst while browsing the newly expanded collection. Did you know Oyster Bay produce sparkling Rosé? Me neither – it’s quite nice, perfect for summer.

IMG_0228 IMG_0230I still maintain antipodes sparkling is the best tonic if you’re hungover and tired. Not that I was. Until the following morning anyway.

I love how their logo has been incorporated into the cornerstone piece of their range – the “perfect robe” through having an brocaded appliqué panel which attaches the ties to the robe.

It’s never just about the clothes – an event like this is just as much about the designers behind it, the retailers that stock it, and all of the other wonderful people who contribute and play a part in the wider industry. With that said, it was great having the opportunity to catch up with acquaintances who are fast becoming old friends, and to get to know some others better as well.
